This year’s race has been pushed back a week to take advantage of historically good weather. A beautiful half marathon course consisting of both paved and hard packed single track offers runners scenery as they circle Otsego Lake. 10k and 5k courses are along country roads at the height of the color season. If you’re looking for a quick jaunt or have young ones in need of a challenge, come on out and do the 1 mile fun run!

The Making Change Event is a way for Guardian Gals to offer a healthy, fun means of raising funds to support their efforts to bring positive change to the Gaylord region. Athlete Testimonial:

“Another great TTF 2013 event! The Making Change Event ½ Marathon course wrapped itself around Otsego Lake here in my hometown, Gaylord, MI, which was a unique run I had never considered prior to the race. ½ road & ½ trail terrain was good on my joints & exposed all racers to a great variety of scenery, hugging Otsego Lake on the right side, for majority of the miles. For Otsego County’s inaugural ½ Marathon, this event was impressive & as a tourist I imagine it would be a perfect up north retreat during peak color, with laid back log cabin lodging just around the corner at Benjamin’s Beaver Creek or camping right there at Otsego Lake County Park where race starts/finishes. And that $250 1st place purse- I left with a nice check, which was also a rewarding way to finish the last race of my 2013 race season in northern
